From this treemap DV, it is illustrated very well that the series composition of the dataset is fairly balanced, as the sizes of the boxes reflect the number of characters of a series. And none of the series dominates the dataset. It can be observed that series with the most characters in the dataset are Game of Thrones, Harry Potter and The Wire, which makes a lot of sense due to the popularity and wide range of characters of these series.

Consequently, the colors of these boxes would indicate the proportion of gender of each series, darker meaning having more male characters, while lighter meaning having more female characters. Users will be able to tell at a glance which series have the most female character compositions, such as, with no surprise, Little Women, Mean Girls, and Orange is the New Black. While series with the most male characters being the Lord of the Rings, the Wire and the Dark Knight.

By hovering over these boxes, users can also learn about the exact number of male and female characters in each of the series. I believe that this interactive feature really helps users in exploring the data in a very effective manner as they can easily select which ones they would like to see further.
